About a 13th century structure in Yerevan

A detailed analysis in Russian, of the architectural and historical significance of the very few surviving pre 17th century Armenian ecclesiastical monuments in Yerevan, the Katoghike church.
The church was discovered in 1936, completely buried inside a much larger 17th century construction. The author pays particular attention to the various architectural elements of the building which illustrate key transitional moments of Armenian church architecture in the middle ages, making this humble monument particularly unique in the history of Armenian architecture.
