Halabyan Karo. Sea port station in Sochi. 1955
The famous sea port station in Sochi built by one of the greatest Soviet Armenian architects, Karo Halabian has turned 55 this year. The building has been a favorite landmark for the locals and visitors alike, but in recent years its fate has been less than certain. Since it has lost its critical function as an entry point for ships, the station today serves as a large hall housing shops and restaurants. As sochi.com reports, there are plans to turn the building into a large shopping mall for clothes.
