Architect Tiran Erkanian built a number of cinemas in Armenia during the 1920s and 30s. The aesthetic of these buildings is a curious mix of neoclassical and art deco elements that eventually led to the sombre classicism of Stalinist architecture in Armenia. The exact fate of this building is at this stage being determined. It is likely that it was torn down to build a new cinema house in the 1980s.
