The recently demolished late 19th century mansion used to serve from mid 1920s as the quarters of one of the first national art schools in Armenia – the Geghard texnikum and later the Terlemezian college of Fine Arts. The building was demolished around 2007 to make way for a multi-storey apartment complex. Many of Armenia’s great artists, such as Sedrak Arakelian, Vahram Gayfetchian and Gabriel Gyurdjian had either tought or studied here.
